The hotel with well-appointed and well-kept rooms, in a very very nice area, close to train and bus stations. Comfortable beds, coffee, it's own balcony and Wi-Fi in the room. Worth every penny mountain view and complimentary breakfast.

The location, in the center of Grindenwald and very near the train station was fantastic. The married couple who worked in reception (the husband until 4 pm, his wife thereafter) were very friendly and helpful.
The single rooms are very small and provide only the basics. This is not the place to stay if you are looking for the comforts of a first- class hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with any requests. The view of the Eiger was terrific from our balcony. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find, right near the train station. We really enjoyed our stay and found the hotel room to be very comfortable.

I booked with the hotel on-line and I knew that it was near the rail station. After I got down I saw the hotel just a few steps away. I was destined to see the Top of Europe. So I could get in the within a few minutes. Though it was dizzling, I need not worried to use the umbrella even. Coming back from Grindelwald was also without any botheration. I left hotel only a few minutes before the time.
It took longer time to complete the check-out procedures The desk person said that he could not charge my card as something might be with my card. But I used the card before and later also.

I liked its central position in the village, the excursions including the trip on the postbus to Meiringen, the surrounding villages and the Jungfrau Joch.I loved the wonderful view from the room to which I upgraded at extra cost, the free use of the internet and the excellent coffee which was available all day long. The receptionists were freindly and helpful.. In short it was the best hotel in which I stayed during a six week long tour of Europe from East Germany, through Switzerland, Tuscany to Venice.

The managers were great. We bumped into them on top of the Schilthorn while fretting about whether to ski down. They went out of their way to put my mind at ease and ushered us down. This turned into one of the highlights of the entire trip!

Quick review for busy people
Perfectly positioned near the train station, this hotel offers stellar views of the mountains. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff's genuine hospitality makes your stay nice. Just be wary of the noise from roadworks and the occasional cramped room. A charming choice for exploring the area!

The view from the balcony - (room 45). The location - (distance from the Station). The friendliness and helpfullness of the staff, both reception and breakfast. The knowledge of the receptionists.
Would have preferred Sky News to CNN as the 'English - speaking" TV channel, but I wouldn't say I didn't 'like' that.

My previous trip to grindelwald didn't quite compare to this one. The mountain views from my room were amazing, especially at sunrise, and the breakfast spread featured an excellent selection of freshly baked goods and local cheeses.
the bathroom was really cramped.
